Gary Olson – President

As a native of Minnesota, Gary is not intimidated by the winters of Colorado!  He enjoys skiing and has been singing bass with the chorus for 8 years.  Gary has an undergraduate degree in economics from U of Minnesota combined with a Masters in Business Administration.  Gary is a retired U. S. Air Force Lieutenant Colonel with 23 years of service and extensive experience as a Telecom Program Manager.

Neil Ridenour – Secretary

A native Ohioan, Neil has been singing barbershop for 15 years and presently sings baritone in the chorus. He served as chapter music librarian for several years before becoming chapter secretary and was awarded the chapter 2020 Barbershopper of the Year award. Neil is a retired U. S. Air Force Lieutenant Colonel with 24 years of service in missile and space operations followed by over 22 years as a defense contractor. Neil also serves on the board of directors of the Rocky Mountain District of the Barbershop Harmony Society as VP for Financial Development.

Jim Campbell – Treasurer

After serving as chapter president from 2014-16, Jim is back to support the chorus as a Member At Large. Jim sings in the bass section and has been a barbershopper for 11 years. Jim is also lending his organizational and leadership talents to the Rocky Mountain District of the Barbershop Harmony Society as VP of Events. Jim is a retired U. S. Navy Captain with 30 years of service followed by 10 years as a defense industry consultant.

Phillip Goodman – VP Membership

Phill is a native Texan, but he moved to Colorado Springs in 2007 following a 20-year career in the Air Force working in Space and Missile Operations. Phill grew up singing in church choir and sang bass in a quartet in high school. Phill has an Associate’s Degree in Space Operations, and a Bachelor’s & Master’s degree in IT Management. He is currently working as a Systems Integration and Test Engineer with L3 Harris in support of the Space Force.

John Chase – VP Music and Performance

John grew up an Air Force Brat and truly began calling Colorado home while in college. He graduated from Adams State College (now University) with a Business degree and a minor in Vocal Music. He has been working in retail management with Walmart for over 20 years and volunteers as an Assistant Scout Master to a local Scout BSA troop. While growing up, John sang in many school and church choirs and has been singing barbershop since he was 14 when his dad got him started with the craft. John can also be found directing the barbershop chorus in Pueblo, CO, where he is also currently serving as President.

Scott McLauthlin – Member At Large

Scott started singing barbershop in 1980 as a baritone with the San Antonio Chordsmen.  Retiring in Colorado Springs as an Air Force Colonel after 30 years of service, Scott has sung baritone with both the Peak Experience and America The Beautiful Choruses.  Scott served as chapter president of the Peak Experience Chorus and is back to support the America The Beautiful Chorus as a Member At Large.  Scott has been working as a civilian attorney in the legal office at the Air Force Academy since 2011.

George Mammarella – Member At Large

George has loved singing as long as he can remember, but sang more formally starting with middle school choir. He started singing barbershop about 10 years ago and it became one of his favorite styles to sing. He has competed and enjoyed some success in choruses and quartets at District and International levels, but most enjoys bringing music to his community. When not singing, you’ll find George spending time with his wife Lauren and their menagerie of pets, playing video games, or working as a software engineer.

Chuck Villier – Member At Large

Chuck was born in Louisville, KY, studied mechanical engineering, and enjoyed a long career in sales and management for EASTMAN CHEMICAL. Chuck and his wife Mary have been married for 62 years and have 4 children, 14 grandchildren. He entered the barbershop world during college via The Thoroughbreds Chorus, and since then has been a member of various quartets and choruses in North Carolina and Colorado, where he now calls Colorado Springs and our chorus home. Chuck’s love of barbershop stems from the close harmony and entertaining audiences. 

Dennis Doyle – Immediate Past President

Dennis served in the U.S Army for 34 years and has been enjoying retirement for 4 years.  During his time in uniform, he and his wife saw a lot of the world as they moved 22 times.  They fell in love with the Front Range while serving at Fort Carson so decided to retire here.  Dennis served as a MEDEVAC pilot, a healthcare administrator, commanded 6 times and deployed twice to Iraq and once to Afghanistan. Dennis has been singing in the lead section for approximately 6 years.

Jim Clark – Chorus Director Ex Officio

Jim sings Lead with the 2010 International Quartet Champions, Storm Front. Jim has been singing barbershop for most of his life and is surrounded by a family of barbershop singers. Jim lives in Aurora, Colorado and commutes to Colorado Springs to direct the America the Beautiful chorus.
