On March 25th, the America the Beautiful chorus held its first in-person rehearsal in over a year! Those members who are vaccinated and comfortable with a rehearsal under the conditions of masking and social distancing spread out on the risers for a long overdue practice session.
Following a year of weekly zoom meetings where each member sang along with a recording, it was great to get back together and enjoy the harmony. Director Jim Clark expected some timing issues after such a layoff but was pleased overall with the effort that members had made to stay “in condition” during the long absence.
In-person sessions have been ongoing since March 25th on an every-other-week basis. It is anticipated that rehearsals will be conducted without masks at some point in May.
Rehearsal intensity will increase as the chorus is scheduled to provide the musical support for the annual Colorado Freedom Memorial Annual Remembrance Day event on May 29th in Aurora, Colorado.
