The America the Beautiful Chorus presented its 2021 Barbershopper of the Year award to Immediate Past President Dennis Doyle at its annual Officer’s Installation banquet on Wednesday, February 9th.
Dennis was recognized for his incredible leadership during the pandemic in which unprecedented problems were before the chorus. The lack of income due to canceled shows and the loss of a rehearsal facility were only two of the major problems that Dennis led the chorus through successfully.
A relative newcomer to barbershop, Dennis’ leadership skills were quickly identified and he was recruited to run for President in 2019. Normally only a two-year position, Dennis agreed to continue as President through the difficult pandemic period much to the benefit of the chorus and its members.
The award was presented by Neil Ridenour, 2020 Barbershopper of the Year
